We Got This Covered is a global digital entertainment brand that covers a multitude of pop culture topics for up to 10+ million monthly readers. We’re currently seeking freelance writers to bolster our coverage surrounding the literary world. This is a fully remote and freelance position.
This is a great opportunity to flex your writing skills across breaking literary news, guides, reading orders, and listicles across the franchises you love (and some you'll come to love). Applicants should be motivated self-starters with an attention to detail. We’re a global, digital news room filled with passionate and dedicated team members.
Are you a passionate book nerd obsessed with great characters and plot twists? At WGTC, we love genre and literary fiction, so long as it's a well-told story. If you can’t get enough of BookTok and the online literary community, then this might be the right place for you.
Genres we're interested in covering, but are not limited to:
- Romantasy
- Mystery, Thriller, and Crime
- Horror
- BookTok/BookTube
- Mainstream bestsellers
Bonus points for:
- Expert knowledge of multiple genres listed above, or other popular genres we missed
Responsibilities:
- Help cover Book related topics through an in-depth understanding of the mainstream literary community
- Must be a self-starter who can confidently pitch trending ideas
- Submit clean copy with minimal edits
- Meet deadlines for publishing stories
- Follow trending topics through Google Trends and Twitter
- Write a minimum of 20 stories per month
Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of editorial/journalistic experience, specifically focused on entertainment
- Fluency in English and excellent writing skills
- Knowledge of SEO practices, WordPress, and Trello
Compensation ranges from $16-90 per article depending on word count. Rates may vary, depending on location, for international candidates.
